EU Pet Passport
The blue booklet issued by authorized vets in the EU that records a pet's identity, microchip and rabies vaccinations. It is the travel document for pets that RESIDE in the EU: travelers arriving from outside use an animal health certificate instead.
Which document you need depends on where the dog lives, not on where you are going. A pet resident in the EU travels with the passport, issued by an authorised vet. A dog arriving from outside the EU cannot use one and needs an animal health certificate instead: signed by an official vet in your country within the 10 days before arrival, and valid for 4 months of movement inside the EU, or until the rabies vaccination expires if that comes first. The passport records the microchip number, so the chip has to be implanted before the rabies vaccination, or the vaccination does not count for travel.
